High School Mathematics Academy

The helps high-achieving high school juniors develop the math and problem-solving skills necessary to succeed in engineering and exposes students to engineering in practice. Open to all students, the Math Academy especially targets underrepresented minorities in engineering including African American, Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander and female students. Applications are being accepted for summer 2011 and are due by March聽2,聽2011.聽

Changing China in Photographs

Now through February 28, the will exhibit about 60 photos taken in China after 2006 to reflect the rapid ongoing changes. The authors/artists are from the Chinese community in Seattle, many of whom are students at UW.聽 The exhibit is presented by the UW Chinese Student and Scholar Association ().

The Situation in Egypt

If recent events in Egypt have you聽searching for more information, come to campus on Friday, February 4 for a panel discussion on “The Current Situation in Egypt.” Free and open to the public, this event is sponsored by the and features UW experts from the fields of law, history and Near and Middle East relations.

Obama Inauguration Speaker Elizabeth Alexander at Kane Hall
