On the anniversary of the catastrophic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico one year ago聽this April, and another disastrous oil spill in Prince William Sound, Alaska, 22 years ago this April, is bringing together scholars and scientists, journalists and activists, chefs and fishermen from Alaska, Louisiana, and Washington to discuss how these very different spills were reported and the lasting impact they had on communities. You are invited to join this day of shared learning in the Allen Library Research Commons on Saturday, April 2.聽聽Prior is required.

Don’t miss the Burke Museum Dino Day lecture this Friday at Kane Hall, where Dr. Philip Currie will discuss his worldwide search for dinosaur fossils聽 in order to聽learn how these amazingly diverse animals were able to dominate the earth’s landscape for over 130 million years. This lecture is free but is required.
