Did you know that 15 innocent people in Washington state have had their convictions overturned thanks to The Innocence Project Northwest (IPNW) Clinic , a program staffed by student and faculty volunteers from the UW School of Law? The Office of Regional & Community Affairs is excited to share with you the latest edition of Front Porch. Here are a few of the highlights:
Each week, hundreds of at-risk Seattle schoolchildren meet one-on-one with their 鈥淗usky Buddies鈥濃攖eacher candidates from the UW College of Education who are helping prepare them for success in school and life.
UW student Joe Stout is helping children throughout our community smile more brightly by learning about and providing specialized pediatric dental care.
Daniel Winterbottom, UW landscape architecture professor, and his students, are creating 鈥渉ealing gardens鈥 at Seattle area health-care facilities to help ease the stress of critically ill people and their loved ones.
