The Bernard Osher Foundation has announced a $1 million gift to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the 天美影视传媒 (OLLI-UW). The Institute offers a diverse array of non-credit courses and activities for people 50 and older, giving these adults access to continuing education at the UW. The 天美影视传媒 received a record $542.4 million in the 2016 fiscal year, ending June 30, breaking the previous record of $482.5 million set in 2013-14. The 天美影视传媒 will create an undergraduate minor in real estate studies thanks to a $5.4 million gift from retired Windermere Real Estate founder John Jacobi and his wife, Rosalind. The Jacobis鈥 gift will also support two new endowed faculty chairs at the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies in the UW鈥檚 College of Built Environments.

The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has awarded the 天美影视传媒 a three-year, $750,000 grant to support guest artists in developing new works, and to better integrate arts disciplines into the broader university curriculum.

The grant will support a Creative Fellowships Initiative, under which guest performing artist fellows will be recruited from around the world for one- to three-year residencies in dance, music and theater.

Donors can pledge a one-time donation or give all year through payroll deduction to support local programs and global nonprofits.
