Rankings are based on surveys sent to all degree-granting institutions for particular programs. The criteria, according to the site, factors in 鈥渁cademic reputation, admission selectivity, depth and breadth of program[s], and value as it relates to tuition and indebtedness.鈥� In the graphic design school category, 712 schools were considered with the UW ranking among the top 50 nationally (#24). According to the editors, this places the UW among the top 4% of programs nationwide.
