The 天美影视传媒 maintained its No. 10 spot on the聽, released this week. The UW is ranked No. 2 among U.S. public institutions.
鈥淚t鈥檚 an honor for the 天美影视传媒 to once more be recognized for the strength of our research and scholarship. This ranking is a testament to both our outstanding faculty across many disciplines and to the opportunities for research and discovery that bring our talented students here,鈥� UW President Ana Mari Cauce said.
American universities make up eight of the top 10 spots.
The ranking methodology 鈥� which is based on Web of Science data and metrics provided by Clarivate Analytics InCites 鈥� weighs factors that measure a university鈥檚 global and regional research reputation and academic research performance. For the overall rankings, this includes bibliometric indicators such as publications, citations and international collaboration.
The overall Best Global Universities ranking, now in its sixth year, encompasses the top 1,500 institutions spread across 81 countries, up from 75 countries last year, according to a press release from U.S. News.
U.S. News also ranked several subjects. Here are the UW subjects ranked in the top 10:
- Geosciences – No. 5
- Microbiology – No. 5
- Clinical medicine – No. 6
- Pharmacology and toxicology – No. 6
- Social sciences and public health – No. 7
- Surgery – No. 7
- Molecular biology and genetics – No. 8
- Immunology – No. 10
