UWTV and Eric Chudler, executive and education director of聽UW’s Center for Sensorimotor Neural Engineering, received an Emmy庐 Award from the Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences on Saturday for the program “BrainWorks: Exercise and the Brain” in the Health/Science Program/Special category.
BrainWorks was produced by UW Video Producer Cara Podenski and Chudler, who is also an associate professor of bioengineering at the UW.
The Emmy-winning episode, 鈥淓xercise and the Brain,鈥 discussed the benefits of exercise on the brain and learning. BrainWorks is an educational series that takes viewers on a journey inside the human brain, with the goal of educating children about the wonders of neuroscience.
鈥淭he BrainWorks series encourages people to learn about their brain and neurological disorders,鈥 . 鈥淭he programs have an educational mission similar to that of the CSNE, to motivate young people to pursue careers in neuroscience.鈥
