Pianist Nikolai Lugansky will perform at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Meany Hall. Capable of great refinement and sensitivity in Chopin and Mozart, and breathtaking virtuosity in Liszt and Rachmaninov, Lugansky is a pianist of extraordinary depth and versatility. His orchestral collaborations include such luminaries as conductors Charles Dutoit, Kent Nagano, and Kurt Masur.
Lugansky, already a major artist, has been hailed as the “next鈥 in a line of great Russian pianists by his former teacher, the renowned pedagogue, Tatiana Nikolaeva. He has been described as “a pianistic phenomenon of exceptional class鈥 by the Netherlands NRC Handelsblad and as “riveting鈥 and “stand out鈥 by Londons Telegraph.
For his Meany concert, Lugansky will play five pieces by Chopin and four by Liszt.
