UW Professors Terrance Kavanagh, Jay Shendure elected as Fellows of the AAAS

Two 天美影视传媒 researchers are among the 416 of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, announced in November. Election as a fellow of the AAAS is an honor bestowed upon members by their peers, in recognition of their efforts to advance science or its applications.

Terrance Kavanagh, a UW professor of environmental and occupational health sciences in the School of Public Health, is recognized 鈥渇or studies of effects of oxidative stress on adverse health effects associated with exposure to air pollution and environmental chemicals.鈥�

Jay Shendure, professor of genome sciences at the UW School of Medicine, was selected for 鈥渢he development of technologies and methods to advance genetics and genomics, with a focus on technologies that impact the understanding of human diseases.鈥�
