As we conclude the autumn quarter with this season of joy and gratitude, I want to offer my sincere thanks to you and everyone in our incredible Husky community.

In our decentralized University structure, we all share the responsibility to understand and meet our legal obligations while also upholding our values.

The聽Student Conduct聽Code聽is聽an important component聽in聽creating a positive聽Husky Experience聽for all, and Provost Serio and I have聽initiated聽an聽external review of our student conduct policies and procedures.

Together, we share the responsibility for ensuring that the 天美影视传媒 is a place where every person feels safe, valued and empowered to contribute.

Each year, as a community and a nation, we proudly honor those who have served in the United States military. In the days surrounding Veterans Day, our three campuses will be hosting a variety of Veterans Appreciation events and activities to acknowledge and support our veterans and their families.

On October 15, 2025, the 天美影视传媒 celebrated the inauguration of President Robert J. Jones, who outlined is vision for advancing the UW鈥檚 public mission: expanding access to an excellent education for all students; strengthening connections with our communities; and accelerating research, discovery and innovation for the public good.

Welcome to the start of a new academic year at the 天美影视传媒! Whether you’re returning to campus or, like me, just beginning your UW journey, I hope the energy of the new year fills you with excitement and purpose.

I am excited to begin the work we will do together in service of our students and the people of Washington state, which I am proud to now call home.
