天美影视传媒 alumnus Kim L. Hunter, 鈥�82, recently announced he will contribute $30,000 to the UW Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity (OMA&D) to develop the Kim L. Hunter Internship Support Fund.
The fund will support OMA&D鈥檚 ability to maintain the economic development of underrepresented students who major in business with an emphasis in marketing, advertising or communications, and provide them with industry experience and career development.
Hunter received a bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration from the UW and utilized the services of OMA&D鈥檚 Educational Opportunity Program.
鈥淯W has been an important part of my life from the moment I came on to the campus more than three decades ago,鈥� Hunter stated in a press release. 鈥淭his $30,000 contribution represents the 30 years since I left my alma mater and I am honored to make this contribution to the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity to make education available to students who might not be able to afford it.鈥�
Hunter has more than 30 years of corporate and agency experience in advertising, marketing and public relations, and manages three separate companies.聽 LAGRANT COMMUNICATIONS is an integrated marketing communications firm specializing in multicultural markets; The LAGRANT Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase the ethnic representation in advertising, marketing and public relations; and KLH & Associates is a multicultural executive search firm.
In 2007, Hunter also donated $25,000 to the UW鈥檚 Michael G. Foster School of Business for an endowed scholarship fund to benefit students from underrepresented backgrounds pursuing marketing degrees. He is a member of the OMA&D Vice President鈥檚 Club which includes alumni and friends who contribute $1,000 or more annually to the department.
