Naruto
Naruto听is a Japanese听听series written and illustrated by听. It tells the story of听, a young听听who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village. The story is told in two parts 鈥� the first set in Naruto’s pre-teen years, and the second in his teens. The series is based on two听听by Kishimoto:听Karakuri听(1995), which earned Kishimoto an honorable mention in听‘s monthly听Hop Step Award听the following year, and听Naruto听(1997).
Naruto听was serialized in Shueisha’s magazine,听听from 1999 to 2014, and released in听听(book) form in 72 volumes. The manga was adapted into an听听television series produced by听听补苍诲听, which broadcast 220 episodes in Japan from 2002 to 2007; the English听听of the series aired on听听补苍诲听听from 2005 to 2009.听, a sequel to the original series, premiered in Japan in 2007, and ended in 2017, after 500 episodes. The English dub was broadcast on听听from 2009 to 2011, airing the first 98 episodes, and then switched over to听‘蝉听听programming block in January 2014, starting over from the first episode. The English dub is still airing weekly on Adult Swim to this day. Viz Media began streaming the anime series on their streaming service听听in December 2012 on 99 episodes, and ended in March 2016, after 338 episodes. Besides the anime series, Pierrot has developed eleven movies and twelve听听(OVAs). Other听Naruto-related merchandise includes听, video games, and trading cards developed by several companies.
听licensed the manga and anime for North American production and serialized听Naruto听in their digital听听magazine. The anime series began airing in the United States and Canada in 2005, and in the United Kingdom and Australia in 2006 and 2007, respectively. The films and most OVAs from the series were also released by Viz, with the first film premiering in movie theaters. The story of听Naruto听continues with Naruto’s son,听, in听: Boruto wishes to create his own ninja way instead of following his father’s.
Naruto听is one of the听听in history having 250 million copies in circulation worldwide in 47 countries and regions, with 153 million copies in Japan alone and remaining 97 million copies elsewhere. It has become one of Viz Media’s best-selling manga series; their English translations of the volumes have appeared on听听补苍诲听听bestseller list several times, and the seventh volume won a听听in 2006. Reviewers praised the manga’s character development, strong storylines, and well-executed fight scenes, though some felt the fight scenes slowed the story down. Critics noted that the manga, which has a听听theme, makes use of cultural references from听听补苍诲听.
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Avatar: The Last Airbender听(abbreviated as听ATLA),听also known as听Avatar: The Legend of Aang听in some regions or simply听Avatar, is an American听听听produced by听. It was co-created by听听补苍诲听, with听听serving as head writer. It aired on听听for three seasons, from February 2005 to July 2008.
Avatar听is set in an Asiatic-inspired world in which some people can听听manipulate one of the听鈥攚ater, earth, fire or air鈥攖hrough practices known as “bending”, inspired by听. The only individual who can bend all four elements, the “Avatar”, is responsible for maintaining harmony among the world’s four nations, and serves as the bridge between the physical world and the spirit world. The series is presented in a style that combines听听with听听and relies on the imagery of primarily听, with some other听,听,听,听, and听听补苍诲听听influences.
The series is centered around the journey of twelve-year-old听, the current Avatar and last survivor of his nation, the Air Nomads, along with his friends听,听, and later听, as they strive to end the Fire Nation’s war against the other nations of the world. It also follows the story of听鈥攖he exiled prince of the Fire Nation, seeking to restore his lost honor by capturing Aang, accompanied by his wise uncle听鈥攁nd later, his ambitious sister听.
Avatar: The Last Airbender听was a ratings success and received widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike for its characters, cultural references, art direction, soundtrack, humor, and themes. These include concepts rarely touched on in youth entertainment, including听,听,听,听,听听补苍诲听.听It won five听, a听, a听, a听, and a听. The show is regarded by several critics as one of the greatest animated television series of all time.
The extended听听includes an听, a听, an听, and a听, as well as an upcoming听听produced for听. The Creator
Satoshi Tajiri is a Japanese video听听补苍诲听听best known for being the creator of the听听franchise and one of the founders, and President of听听. A fan of听, Tajiri wrote for and edited his own video gaming听听Game Freak听with听, before evolving it into a development company of the same name. Tajiri claims that the joining of two听听via a link cable inspired him to create a game which embodied the collection and companionship of his childhood hobby,听. The game, which became听听补苍诲听, took six years to complete and went on to spark a multibillion-dollar franchise which reinvigorated听‘蝉听听scene. Tajiri continued to work as director for the听笔辞办茅尘辞苍听series until the development of听, when he changed his role to executive producer, which he holds to this day.
