Law School clinics serve students and the public

Since 1979, the has offered students the opportunity to represent real clients or mediate real cases by working with faculty members through the , part of the School’s mission to provide “generous public service.” grew out of a volunteer effort aimed at freeing inmates who have been wrongfully convicted of crimes.

Honoring those who served

Although the campus will be closed for Veteran’s Day tomorrow, 11/11/11, community members are invited to attend a at 10:30 am at the Medal of Honor Memorial site, off of Memorial Way. Parking is free, so linger to visit聽 that also honor veterans.

“Reel to Real” film series begins Nov. 9

, first in a provocative film series exploring themes related to cities, health and environments, will be shown from 2:30-4:30 pm on Nov. 9聽 in the . Sponsored by the , the series draws upon the department’s undergraduate curriculum and some of the and community engagement projects pursued by UW geographers. All films are free and open to the public.

“Images in Crisis,” a series of four UW faculty lectures exploring the afterlife of world-famous photos will begin tonight at 7 pm in , room 201, and continue for the next three nights. Lectures are free and open to the public.
